ABC carried that game with a crew of play-by-play announcer Chris Schenkel, analyst Bud Wilkinson and sideline reporter Bill Flemming. The memorable 1969 Ole Miss-Alabama game, which had national record-setting performances by Rebel quarterback Archie Manning and Tide signal caller Scott Hunter, was the first prime-time national telecast of a college football game. The Rebels' history on television has been a storied one and ABC has been a big part of that history.
